Marilyn Pipe: 'Texture with a Hot Twist' - Saturday 12th April, 2014 (10.00am to 4pm)

Using heat from a hot gun, soldering iron or even an ordinary flat iron to change various materials can be a very exciting experience. The techniques are very simple but the results are always surprising and can be stunning.

This will be a fun day with tutor Marilyn Pipe:  experimenting with various new fabrics that change with heat including Kunin felt, Tyvek, Lutradur and Fusible Film, and there’s more….!
After a demonstration of each technique, there will be time to develop individual samples. The resulting fabrics can be further enhanced by machine/hand embroidery.

Heat tools will be available to borrow or buy and any health and safety issues will be explained for those unfamiliar with using them.
